This doctoral-level seminar provides an intensive examination of crisis, trauma, grief, and bereavement from the perspectives of biblical theology, pastoral care, and advanced counseling practice. Students will engage in critical analysis of major theological, historical, and contemporary approaches to suffering, lament, resilience, and crisis intervention. Emphasis is placed upon the integration of biblical counseling methodology with complex ministry contexts involving trauma, suicide risk, disaster response, prolonged grief, congregational crises, and spiritual suffering. Students will evaluate current research, develop advanced ministry models, conduct scholarly research, and formulate biblically grounded strategies for leadership, counselor training, and crisis-care ministry. The course is designed to prepare doctoral students for roles in higher education, ministry leadership, counselor supervision, and advanced ministry consultation.
