WELCOME TO THE CLASS!
I will look forward to studying this fascinating and challenging topic with you. Here are just a few points to remember:
1. This is not a class on lower criticism, higher criticism, or the evidences for the inspiration of the Bible. However, you will want to note the relationships between these fields and perhaps refine your definition of these areas as we progress since they are obviously interrelated.
2. Literature on this topic which holds to the verbal, plenary view of inspiration is scarce. Work to build your acquaintance with good materials on this subject.
3. The bulk of your work for this class will be research and contemplative questions which will be given on a weekly or biweekly basis and due the following week.
4. I will be reading your work and making recommendations throughout the course. Do not hesitate to call or e-mail particularly if you are having difficulty with a particular question or if something unexpected interrupts your pattern of studies.
